Science Curriculum
2014-2015
My philosophy of teaching is to use technology for notes, include hands-on activities daily, CSI starters, and demonstrations to expand each student’s curiosity to make learning science as enjoyable as possible. Teaching 21st Century Skills of problem solving, evaluating, collaborating, creating, and global awareness is a new and exciting change of thinking in the education world, and one that places students in control of their own quest for knowledge. It is my pleasure to enhance my lessons with as many 21st Century challenges as possible. I have also taken the time to begin to implement the Next Generation Science Standards into my present curriculum as well as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) with a STEM assigned and articulated to all of my students.

Textbook: Life Science by Pearson/Prentice Hall- This book is great. I have a hard copy classroom set and each students has an account so they can access the book online. This has been very successful since we no longer have to carry the books back and forth from home to school.
Grading: Point Scale (not weighted) Categories: Project, Quiz, Tests, and Homework when announced. Projects for the Year!
